A furniture company is as much about its people as its products. This article takes you behind the scenes at Suffa: the spaces, the processes and, above all, the people who make every sofa what it is.
Lordelo, Paredes: the heart of Portuguese production
The factory is located in Lordelo, in the municipality of Paredes, a region with more than a century of furniture-making tradition. In this setting, Suffa benefits from a dense network of specialist suppliers and a local culture of demanding craftsmanship.
The production team
Suffa's craftspeople have on average more than 10 years' experience with the company. This team stability is unusual in the sector and has a direct impact on quality: each craftsperson knows the materials, processes and standards of every model in depth.
The design department
Each collection is designed in-house, in collaboration with external designers. The criterion isn't just aesthetics: every design decision is also assessed for manufacturability, durability and comfort.
Quality control: a continuous process
Every sofa passes at least three checkpoints before leaving the factory: frame, upholstery and final finish. Any non-conformity is corrected before delivery, with no exceptions.
International expansion from Portugal
Suffa exports to demanding markets on several continents. This international dimension validates the product's quality in a competitive environment and brings perspectives and demands that drive continuous improvement.
Behind every Suffa sofa is a community of people committed to a common goal: making the best sofa possible. That collective intention is what you feel when you sit down.
