Why do Suffa sofas cost what they do? The answer lies in the materials. This article transparently explains the criteria guiding the selection of each raw material that enters the factory in Lordelo, and why these criteria make a real difference to the final product.
Italian leathers: origin matters
Suffa leathers come exclusively from Italian tanneries with origin certification and sustainable tanning processes. Italy maintains the highest standards in the world for furniture leather, a tradition spanning centuries that translates into unparalleled texture, durability, and long-term performance.
Wood: structure designed to last decades
The internal structure uses certified wood from sustainable sources. The choice between solid wood and high-density panels is made based on the model and application; in no case is material of inferior quality to what is necessary used.
Foam: the comfort you feel in the first 10 years
Foams have densities between 25 and 55 kg/m³, selected according to the sofa area (seat vs. backrest) and the intended use profile. This specificity prevents the sofa from 'sinking' after 3 to 4 years.
Technical fabrics: selection based on tests
Each technical fabric is internally tested before being added to the catalog: abrasion (Martindale), stain resistance, UV light behavior, and color fastness after washing. Only fabrics that pass all criteria are made available.
The commitment to not lowering standards
The temptation to use lower-cost materials always exists. The decision to never succumb to this temptation is what defines a premium brand. In 40 years, this commitment has never been broken.
Transparency about materials is a form of respect for the customer. Those who buy a Suffa sofa know exactly what they are buying, and why it is worth the investment.
